Hunting with Golden Eagle is one of the most unique features of the Kazakh life. The hunter is named kusbegi or berkutchi. The experience of wild birds training was gained by Kazakh kusbegi by centuries, the secrets were impacted from the father to the son and kept deep secret. At the present time we can meet few people with such name. These masters have innate gift of wild birds training. For a hunting they tame falcons, golden eagles and eagles. Names of birds are given depending on their appearance and battle characteristics. The hunting with Golden Eagle is during ten centuries. Potential journeys included photographing snow leopards, living and learning from Eagle Hunters and joining a traditional migration with a nomadic family and their herds of animals.

Soaring over the Altai’s cliffs and slopes are the legendary Golden Eagles – known as the Berkut, which are renowned for their hunting prowess and revered by the Altai Kazakh people.

This itinerary will take us into the heart of the Altai Mountains where Golden Eagles, Eagle hunter and the mysterious Snow Leopard coexist in a truly mythic landscape and culture.

Arrive UB airport and explore UB









Arrive UB airport and meet by our Blue Wolf team. Takes approx 45min to transfer to hotel. After a short rest to freshen-up we will do a sight -seeing tour of Ulaanbaatar, focusing on such significant cultural sites as Gandan Buddhist Monastery, the Zanzabar Fine Arts Museum, which holds the finest collection of thangka paintings, carvings and sculptures in Mongolia. The Chojin Lama temple will be visited, the location of which clearly illustrates the great contrast between the old and the new in Mongolia. Lunch will be enjoyed in a nearby Mongolian restaurant with traditional cuisine. In the afternoon, the Winter Palace of the last Bogd Khan will be visited which houses some very interesting cultural and religious artifacts. To get a panoramic overview of the city, we may visit the Great Buddha statue and memorial at Zaisan. Overnight at a 3*/4*/5* hotel.

Fly to Olgii









Transfer to UB airport and fly to Olgii. Meet by our team and transfer to Blue Wolf office. After lunch and tour briefing, we drive about 4-5 hrs and reach the road end. Overnights in nomadic style ger. (LD)

Nauryz Eagle Festival




Meet the Kazakh Eagle hunters. The rodeo of eagle hunting. A fantastic opportunity for photographers and adventurers alike to see these magnificent birds up close. There are approx. 400 eagle hunters in Bayan-Olgii aimag. The eagle hunters from around regions gather to test their finely trained birds in singular contests of speed and agility in these few days. During the festival we also see some Kazakh Traditional Horse Games like “BushKushi" (Try to take out from each other the goat skin on horseback), "Kiss woman on horseback", "Pick up coins from the land on horseback" and others. In the evening we enjoy to have the Kazakh Concert with some traditional songs and music. Overnights in nomadic style ger. (BLD

Classic Eagle Hunting and Snow-leopard










The Mongolian Kazakhs use for hunting female eagles as far they are bigger mail ones and more aggressive. These eagles are trained to hunt foxes, wolves, rabbit and wild cat. Everyday going side by side with eagle hunter to hunt mostly fox we learn and enjoy this unique customs of the Mongolian Kazakhs. We have the chance to explore Snow-leopard. Overnights in nomadic style ger. Last day, evening drive back to Olgii. Overnight in “Eagle Dreams” hotel. (BLD)

Drive towards Ulaangom and meet Gantumur





Today we say good-by to our host-Kazakh Eagle hunter and his family and start to drive back. Driving by north-eastern route, we will be able to have beautiful views of the entire Altai Mountains range. Reach Gantumur and his family. Overnight in nomadic style ger. (BLD)







Day 26-28






26-28. Migration






Your nomadic migration adventure begins! Meet your guides and get acquainted with your horse – the closest companion you’ll have for the next 2 days. You’re free to follow the migration partially on foot along the journey today of 30km as it might take you some time to get used to riding for hours at a time.

Follow nomadic movement towards Twin Peaks. Joining a traditional migration with a nomadic family and their herds of animals. Overnights in nomadic style ger. (BLD)

Drive back to Olgii




Stay with nomads a half day and afternoon drive to Olgii. Overnight in “Eagle Dreams” hotel. (BLD)

Fly To UB




Early breakfast. Transfer to the airport and fly to UB approx. 3 hrs. Transfer to 4* hotel. (B)
 You will have a full day to explore the sprawling city of retro architecture, thrilling nightlife, wild traffic and exciting commerce. There’s plenty to see, do and eat – your guide will recommend some of the best places to dine at

Depart UB





After early breakfast, transfer to Olgii airport. Leave only foot prints & take only lifetime of memories home from your Mongolian adventure.
